Lawmakers: FCC's UHF plan puts broadcasters in "regulatory purgatory"

The Federal Communications Commission's plan to end the UHF discount for determining national ownership caps creates "a regulatory purgatory for broadcasters" from now until when the new regulations become official, according to two House leaders. Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, and Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., chairman of the communications subcommittee, said the timetable could possibly stall "countless jobs and billions of dollars in new investment."
