What would a government shutdown mean for small firms?

Thirty percent of small-business owners surveyed say they favor a one-day government shutdown, and four-fifths of that group say their companies would not be affected it, according to Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management. "The fact that nearly half of business owners are willing to wait out a government shutdown suggests that businesses are highly dissatisfied with the circumstances in Washington," said Craig Everett, who is with the Graziadio School.
