Amendments allow higher premium discounts for healthy lifestyle

Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., has offered two amendments to the health reform bills in Congress that would allow employers to offer workers deep discounts on their health insurance premiums if they keep fit, stop smoking and lead healthy lives. Supporters say the measures would encourage healthy behaviors and save money, but critics say it could make coverage unaffordable for some people who need it.
