N.J. firm is perfecting building materials with embedded solar cells

The next generation of solar power may not rely on free-standing panels. New Jersey-based Applied Photovoltaics is gearing up to manufacture prefabricated building materials with embedded solar cells. Recently, Energy Secretary Steven Chu and state Rep. Rush Holt stopped by the Hopewell Township plant for a look at the company's breakthrough.
