Office of Health IT Adoption's director discusses slow pace for EHRs

Karen Bell, director of the Office of Health IT Adoption for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, says that many U.S. physicians have not yet adopted EHRs because of the cost, selection process and loss of productivity during the first few months of adoption. Bell says that widespread adoption will allow doctors to save money and find other patients with similar ailments and analyze their treatment.
