Joseph Morgan Jr., appointed as interim chief executive officer of Standard Register on Sept. 12, remains the leading candidate for the permanent position. However, the company also retained an executive search firm for the CEO position of the printing and document services firm. However, if he is the permanent choice, Morgan says that "even the decisions we made a year ago may or may not be the exact right decisions given the current economic environment. So we need to take all that we need to know, and we need to apply that most appropriately to the future state."
