Wellness program success leads insurer to issue refunds

Michigan's Blue Care Network will give 2.5% premium refunds totaling $7.3 million to 5,200 small businesses in the state because health costs were lower than expected, thanks partly to workplace wellness programs. Blue Care president Kevin Klobucar says the insurer offers prevention programs and asks employers to embrace wellness, which "translates into lower costs for Michigan businesses."
