Telecoms finish first phase of trans-Pacific submarine cable

Verizon Business, AT&T, Chunghwa Telecom, China Netcom, China Telecom and China Unicom announced the completed installation of phase one of a trans-Pacific submarine cable that will provide connection between the U.S. and China and Taiwan. The Trans-Pacific Express fiber-optic cable, which will eventually offer bandwidth of 6 terabytes, is 11,000 miles long.
