U.S. economic growth rate slightly picked up in Q2

The Department of Commerce revised annual growth of the U.S. gross domestic product to 1.7% for the second quarter ending in June, its third estimate for the period. Consumer and business investments increased from the previous quarter despite expanding deficits in foreign trade, Wells Fargo senior economist Mark Vitner said.
