Nigerian insurers must comply with IFRS or risk suspension

Nigeria's National Insurance Commission reportedly is threatening insurance companies that fail to submit IFRS-compliant annual reports with suspension. The commission has already imposed a monetary penalty on companies that failed to comply, but that appears to be having minimal effect. About half of the insurance companies operating in the country have submitted IFRS-compliant reports.
