Lean on the horn, roads are getting more crowded

A study of 2001 highway data revealed U.S. drivers spent 51 hours in traffic every year and highways are jammed for seven hours a day. Los Angeles is the nation's most tied-up city, but traffic troubles are affecting even smaller areas, leading the study's authors to call for new roads and expanded freeways to solve some of the problems.
