Robots take on more confectionery functions

As robotic technology has improved, confectionery companies in Europe are relying on robots for functions such as creating hollow chocolate molds or decorating the finished products. "Engineers have made great strides in the incorporation of vision technology to help with quality control and broaden robotic functionality," said Frank-Peter Kirgis, head of BU Robotics for ABB Switzerland.
