China manufacturing remains in negative territory in September

Government figures show that China's manufacturing contracted again in September, adding to the pullback seen in August and raising pressure for more stimulus. However, September's purchasing managers' index reading of 49.8 was a bit higher than the month before, and Royal Bank of Scotland predicted that with 7.5% to 8% growth this year and next, no major stimulus will be in the offing from Beijing.
