Plant-based diet best for breast cancer patients, RD says

Women being treated for breast cancer should adopt a plant-based diet recommended by the American Institute for Cancer Research that limits red and processed meats and focuses on fresh fruits and vegetables, says registered dietitian Cortney Malcher at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven in Connecticut. She says it's important to switch from processed and fast-food meals to homemade meals but cautions people to make changes slowly.
