Analysis: Netflix has future in mind with content investments

The ability to watch content at any time is driving viewers to Netflix and other video services more than their offers of original programming, according to research from Vision Critical. However, the push by these services to offer their own content is likely to help them retain subscribers, in the same way that HBO has maintained audience loyalty by creating its own shows, writes Bruce Friend, Vision Critical's president of media and entertainment.
