A draft cybersecurity framework for the U.S. private sector is basically complete, according to Patrick Gallagher, director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The draft should be ready for release Oct. 10 despite the federal government shutdown, while a final version is expected by February. "Now we are really focused on taking what has been a remarkable effort and translating and driving it into practice. And for me, the litmus test of success is going to be the extent to which this framework becomes integrated with the way we operate," Gallagher said.
