New N.Y. diagnostic veterinary lab aims to protect food supply

The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, which opened Friday at Cornell University, is designed to improve efforts to protect public health and the food supply in New York. The $70 million facility is expected to bolster the university's capacity to study disease outbreaks that can affect human and animal health, and develop appropriate response strategies, officials said.
