AWEA: U.S. small-wind power grew by 26% in 2010

The market for small wind turbines in 2010 grew by 26% in the U.S. and 65% in the U.K., the "greatest year-on-year increase" for the industry, according to reports, including one due out this month from the American Wind Energy Association. Government incentives for small-scale wind power were instrumental for the industry's growth in both countries, the reports said. "Now you have the economics with the incentives," said Larry Flowers, AWEA's deputy director of distributed and community wind.
