ADA president suggests solutions to dental-health crisis

A comprehensive set of tactics is needed to address the country's dental-health crisis, writes American Dental Association President Robert Faiella. The ADA's Action for Dental Health campaign aims to close the gap in dental care, Faiella writes. Solutions that Faiella suggests are: Expand collaborative programs that bring together dentists, hospital and nursing-home administrators, and nonprofit organizations; strengthen and expand Medicaid as well as dental partnerships with community health clinics to provide more services to more people; and encourage collaborations between health professionals and public programs to bring dental-health education and disease prevention into communities.
