Chemical engineer to receive top White House honor

Chemical engineer Rakesh Agrawal has been selected as a recipient of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation and will receive the top federal technological award from President Barack Obama before year's end. Agrawal's innovations include work in electronic devices as well as liquefied and industrial gases. A former member of AIChE's board of directors, Agrawal will also receive the institute's 2011 Founders Award at the upcoming AIChE Annual Meeting in Minneapolis.
