Intel buys Israeli mobile navigation service Telmap

Intel is acquiring Israel's Telmap, a mobile navigation service that will continue to operate under its own brand. Telmap's location-based services track traffic, operate speed cameras and provide other local offerings that compete with similar products from Google, Nokia and Navteq. Telmap is profitable in a tough field and is looking for new services to build revenue, including location-based advertising.
