Deutsche Telekom joins the Red Cross to pilot connected beds

Deutsche Telekom is working with the German Red Cross to develop and test smart beds that can monitor sick and elderly people in outpatient settings. The companies are testing 30 connected beds, which rely on machine-to-machine technology to notify caregivers and family members via their phone if a patient is in distress.
