Using deep brain stimulation to collect brain cells from Parkinson's disease patients, scientists from Western University were able to grow regenerative cells that could be reimplanted in the brain to cure Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative conditions. "What takes over is this population of cells that has a very good regenerative capacity," lead researcher Dr. Matthew Hebb said Wednesday.
