SEC's White suggests reviewing exchanges' self-regulation

Mary Jo White, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, is voicing concern about exchanges' self-regulatory status, saying the SEC should review whether it "continues to meet the needs of investors and public companies." She says "the current nature of exchange competition and the self-regulatory model should be fully evaluated in light of the evolving market structure and trading practices."
