Teachers in a connected classroom use technology to differentiate instruction for students, social studies teachers use sites such as Google Earth to take students on virtual field trips and students hold virtual book discussions with their peers in other countries. These are examples of the vision Pennsylvania elementary-school principal Rob Furman has of the connected classroom, which he writes about in a blog post marking October as Connected Educator Month. "A culture of technology has evolved and our students deserve to be a part of that culture in a connected classroom," he writes.
