Dallas considers allowing digital billboards

City officials in Dallas are considering a proposal that would allow businesses to construct digital billboards within the city limits, a move proponents say would cut down on the total number of outdoor ad displays. Under the proposed plan, digital billboards would be limited to freeways where traditional outdoor displays are already allowed and billboard companies would be required to give up three times the square footage in traditional billboards to install one digital display.
