Nigeria is reworking teacher-education curriculum

Nigeria's National Commission for Colleges of Education says the teacher-education curriculum has failed to prepare educators for classrooms. Muhammed Junaid, the commission's executive secretary, says that the curriculum is too scholarly, and teachers lack the skills they need to effectively teach students. Nigeria is working on retooling the teachers' curriculum and hopes to have a new one ready by December.
