An Australian judge declined to issue a ruling today on Apple's bid to keep Samsung's Galaxy Tab tablets out of the country. Samsung said the lack of a decision could cripple the company because its pre-Christmas sales season will be in jeopardy. Apple refused a Samsung offer to settle that would have let Samsung sell the tablets. Also on the patent front, Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg expressed confidence that the phone maker would avoid the patent wars. "Apart from our own 6,000 patents, we're licensed to use the combined patent portfolios of both our owners, Sony and Ericsson," he said.
