Judge denies release for Miami doctor accused of Medicare fraud

Christopher Gregory Wayne, a Miami osteopathic physician known as "Rock Doc" because of his punk-style hair and fashion, was denied bond release after Magistrate Judge Barry Garber decided Wayne "might well flee this jurisdiction." Wayne was arrested Monday on 12 counts of Medicare fraud. He is accused of submitting fraudulent billings for physical therapy treatments. Wayne is suspected to have been paid $1.7 million for almost $5 million worth of false claims from 2007 to 2009.
