Teachers integrate programming lessons across curriculum

Some teachers are answering the call to ensure more students learn about computer programming by integrating coding into the core curriculum, rather than introducing separate classes on the subject. Among them is Karen Mensing, who teaches first- and second-grade students in Phoenix. Mensing led students in an exercise in which they used Scratch and Star Logo to create games for practicing their math and spelling skills.
