Qualcomm takes first step in killing FLO TV service

Qualcomm said it will no longer market its FLO TV mobile video service to consumers after lackluster sales, although it will continue to provide programming to subscribers through spring. The chip maker said it might also stop supporting its mobile TV service to carriers AT&T and Verizon Wireless. The move will allow Qualcomm to sell valuable spectrum, industry observers noted.
