Private clubs need to shake it up to attract new members

Many private golf clubs are seeing a steep decline in membership, which could be due to the lack of value that today's young professionals place on private associations, said the vice chairman of the hospitality, resort and golf industry team for the law firm Foley & Lardner. Offering low- or no-interest loans for membership fees or extending membership to existing members' adult children for an additional fee could help attract more people to the club.
