Apple, Research In Motion market smartphones to medical community

Apple, Research In Motion and other smartphone companies are touting their products to the medical community as hospitals move to improve efficiency. Stanford Hospital & Clinics has begun a trial designed to test software that will enable health providers to view patient records on Apple's iPhone while the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center has distributed RIM's BlackBerry so its nurses and doctors can use the device to communicate with each other.
