Mom's depression may lead to aggression against children

Mothers who are depressed are more likely to act aggressively toward their child, according to a study of 5,500 U.S. families investigated for child abuse. Researchers said although the study doesn't prove a mother's depression leads to child abuse, it does support recommendations that health care providers screen adults for both depression and spousal or partner abuse.
