China Medical purchases Molecular Diagnostic's HPV detection system

China Medical Technologies has gained rights to market a human papillomavirus detection system from Molecular Diagnostic Technologies in a $345 million deal expected to be finalized by early 2009. The agreement involves Molecular Diagnostic's HPV-DNA Biosensor Chip -- which can pinpoint 24 common HPV strains -- and Surface Plasmon Resonance-based Analysis System -- which examines data gathered from the chip.
