Colorado center to launch technology for double red cell donors

Bonfils Blood Center in Denver is rolling out a technology that will allow for double red cell donations. The procedure will take two units of red blood cells from each donor, and give back the platelets and plasma. The technology is expected to boost the center's blood supply, particularly of the universal blood type O-negative.
