Carrefour says it's not pulling out of South America

France-based retailer Carrefour rejected rumours that it is pulling out of South America or selling operations in other growth markets. The retailer said Brazil and China continue to be "geographic priorities" despite pressure from some of its largest investors. Carrefour CEO Lars Olofsson previously has stated that he plans to focus on European countries as well as emerging markets.
