Desire to learn, commitment from teachers key to success, study finds

Countries worldwide that score highest on Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study and the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study have a number of commonalities, according to a recent study. Researchers found that, in top-ranked countries, teachers, parents, students and others are invested in education, teachers understand curricular goals and successfully implement curriculum, and students want to perform well in school.
