Gates Foundation to encourage new health solutions

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is trying a new approach to improve global health, launching a $100 million fund that will allow scientists working on novel ideas to access relatively small grants quickly. The move is aimed at boosting innovative approaches to health by cutting much of the bureaucracy that is often involved with traditional large grants.
