Pfizer, U.K. experts seek approval for stem cell clinical trial

Pfizer and scientists at the University College London's Institute of Ophthalmology have asked U.K. regulators to allow them to start a clinical trial of retinal cells, derived from human embryonic stem cells, in patients with age-related macular degeneration. They hope to conduct the U.K. study in 2012.
