Fast-casual menus help chains pull business from above

The fresh-food trend is fueling growth of fast-casual chains, often considered by consumers to be a step up from quickservice and less pricey than casual dining. Panera and Chipotle have found success with healthier, fresher menu items, and the trend has migrated to Taco Bell, which says the Cantina Bell items are drawing more women to the chain, and Arby's, whose latest campaign took aim at rival Subway.
