Advisers search out hidden assets in divorce cases

Divorce lawyers are looking to financial advisers to dig into financial data to ferret out assets that a spouse may be hiding. Both parties must produce a net-worth statement in a divorce case, and the first step an adviser takes is checking this against the spouse's tax returns, especially attached schedules listing interest income that could be generated from accounts not included in the net-worth statement.
