Intermodal rail gains traction with shippers

Intermodal rail is gaining ground as shippers choose to go with the more environmentally friendly and cheaper option, writes Liz Wells. The Association of American Railroads recently reported record intermodal rail volume on U.S. railroads. An economic recovery and increasing investment by railroads in their networks has also helped boost intermodal traffic.
