$700M geothermal expansion will create jobs, more green energy

Calpine Corp. plans to expand its existing geothermal facilities by building two more plants near the Geysers steam field in Sonoma County, Calif. The $700 million project would create nearly 200 construction jobs and would generate an additional 98 megawatts of power. If approved, the project has a 30-month buildout schedule.
