Pandora is quick to win mobile fans, slow to pick up advertisers

Music fans' rapid adoption of mobile devices for music streaming and Pandora's equally rapid rise to become the most downloaded free music application have not yet generated much enthusiasm among advertisers. As a consequence, analysts don't see Pandora posting a profit until 2014. "They just can't sell advertising that fast," says Mark Mahaney, an analyst at Citigroup in San Francisco, adding that "it's going to take longer for the monetization to pick up."
