Sustainability in palm oil is a priority, says Malaysian official:

The palm oil industry should continue efforts to become more sustainable amid criticisms of its production processes, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin of Malaysia, the top global exporter. "While significant [emissions] reduction can be easily achieved through best management practices and methane capture from palm oil mills, there is urgency for more scientific studies," he said.
