Facebook nixes privacy feature, makes all users searchable

All Facebook users are now visible through the site's search function after the social network shut down a privacy feature that had previously allowed users to decide whether they wanted to show up in search results. Officials said the opt-out feature had been too confusing, although critics said the move would anger some users. "[E]ven if it was only 1 percent of users taking advantage of the feature, that's still 12 million people who didn't want to be easily found," notes Brian Feldman.
