Experts share how magnet designation empowers nurses

Nurse leaders at New Jersey hospitals said magnet status has encouraged their nursing staff to go beyond the scope of their practice. The process of aiming for designation or redesignation empowered nurses to engage in policy- and decision-making, adopt and create new evidence-based practices for better patient care, and assume roles as transformational leaders, magnet coordinators said.
