IASB selects Dutch official as next chairman

The International Accounting Standards Board has named Hans Hoogervorst, a former Dutch finance minister, to succeed Sir David Tweedie as chairman in June. Hoogervorst, who is chairman of the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets, will have to tap his political skills as the IASB harmonizes its rules with U.S. accounting standards, experts say.
