NQF endorses adverse-event reporting guidelines

The National Quality Forum has backed a set of rules that will help guide the proper data gathering and reporting of health care-associated infections, patient mishaps and other adverse events. "Clear, focused, consumer-oriented public reporting of safety events is vital to truly improve the safety of patient care," NQF's CEO said.
